How do I get my 1099?

Question: How can I get a copy of my 1099 tax document?

Qualifying agents and brokers earning more than $600 in a calendar year will receive a 1099.

1099's are distributed by our partner, Track1099 an IRS-approved vendor, via email or mail by January 31st. Always make sure we have your current email and mailing address on file.

  •  Your information is encrypted during sign-up.
  •  Tax ID numbers are encrypted separately for extra security.
  • If you are trying to locate your 1099 please search your email for Track1099 - if still unable to find please email accounting@ashbygraff.com

Question: Where is my 1099?

You do not qualify to receive a 1099 if you received less than $600 or if you received commission payments to an LLC classified as an S or C corporation. Questions about your tax classification should be directed to your accountant or tax advisor. If you qualify to receive a 1099, your 1099 will be emailed to you by January 31st, please search your email for Track1099 - if still unable to find please email accounting@ashbygraff.com.

Question: My social security number (SSN) or employer identification number (EIN) are listed incorrectly on my 1099. What do I do?

1099's are prepared automatically using the information you provided when you joined or last updated your information. If your 1099 contains incorrect SSN or EIN data you will need to have a corrected 1099 issued. Please complete this form to initiate the process: https://form.jotform.com/232073631332042

Question: Do I have to submit my W9 through your partner?

Yes. It is not feasible for the brokerage to maintain multiple methods of obtaining, tracking, and transmitting W9 information. We have chosen our IRS-approved vendor partner due to their strong security capabilities, and their ability to provide you with fast & easy access to your tax documents at any time.

Question: Where can I see how much commission I earned last year?

If eligible, your 1099 form will include the total commission paid to you for that year. It is ultimately up to the independent contractor to track income and expenses for tax purposes. To request a spreadsheet with your commission earnings you must complete the following form: https://form.jotform.com/230475311980050

Question: What if I don't submit my W9?

Agents may not receive commission payments until a completed W9 is submitted through our partner. Failure to provide an accurate W9 through our partner may result in the IRS requiring the brokerage to withhold 20% of your commissions until an accurate W9 is provided. Notices from the IRS will be sent to you prior to the start of the 20% withholdings.

Question: What if I already submitted my W9 through another method?

We will not accept any W9 that is not submitted through our selected partner. If you previously submitted a W9 through an alternate method please be advised that your 1099 will be sent via USPS to the last available mailing address we have on file for you.

If your information is NOT submitted to Track1099, in order to obtain duplicate copies or previous year 1099's you will need to complete the form here: https://form.jotform.com/213141393573049 and pay the $35.90 processing fee. If we are unable to locate your requested record or you wish to obtain the information without paying a fee, you may contact the IRS directly.
